Technology branding, marketing & design services

Here are some samples of branding, marketing and design work that we've completed for a variety of local Christhurch technology clients.

Dynamic Controls branding design

A branding workshop for the manufacturer of electronic wheelchair componentry revealed that the core business was "enabling motion".  The ensuing technoloy logo design represents both electronic movement, and movement around a joystick.

Dynamic Controls trade show stand design

As electronic componentry for wheel chairs, Dynamic controls wanted to show off its technology without appearing as a wheelchair manufacturer. This trade show stand for Europe and North America featured abstract photography, key products with outlines showing where the product fitted in wheelchairs, and the new logo (representing joystick/motion and electronic circuitry).

These brochures incorporated updated features of new electronic wheelchair component releases.  See also trade show stand.

Tait Electronics marketing collateral

Logo updates for old established brands are often better tackled as a matter of evolution rather than design genius. The old logo had a rectangular block that looked dated. The typography was close together and confusingly read “7 AIR” to some new customers. We dropped the box, spread the letters a little, and developed a typographic hierarchy for the multiple business names and divisions throughout the world. This was packaged in a comprehensive brand manual for 80 countries. Workshops were run with a number of teams, and interviews done internationally (140 in all), to elicit the core values and authentic brand that was unique to Tait and helped it compete internationally with giants like Motorola.  Branding is always contextual and your core promise should be looked at relative to your competitors.  The brand values were articulated in posters which were used in showrooms by distributors world-wide.

Tait corporate profile brochure design

As Christchurch's largest privately owned manufacturing company, the corporate profile brochure needed to present a professional image of mobile radio technology products to customers in over 80 countries. We worked with existing images to tell the amazing story of how Angus grew this business from a fledgling company into an iconic New Zealand business successfully competing against global giants like Motorola in the mobile communications field.

T L Jones corporate profile design

This corporate profile and logo for an international lift sensor company was designed to be a timeless piece that would not date. Testament to this original brief, the profile was used for many years. It was designed for foreign markets with limited English speaking ability. The logo won a Highly Commended at the South Island Advertising Awards 2001.

Syft Technology airport security technology marketing

Syft Technology product machines that can sample and analyse air to detect the presence of harmful substances such as bombs or poisons.  Decision makers at airports, ports and medical labs required a different level of “technical speak” with target audiences ranging from CEO's to operations and lab staff. A range of brochures were produced by industry and increasing in level of detail.

We completed a lot of this work in the mid era of the agency when comms focussed around branding and print collateral.  These days we have a much greater focus on web, and online marketing and would love to talk to you about how we can improve your online profile.  Please contact us to have a chat about our online marketing and Christchurch-based web design  services.
